I am a Senior at Ellsworth Jr./Sr. High School. I grew up on a farm in rural Ellsworth County. I have an older brother. As a high school student, I chose to take elective classes in Woods and Agriculture technology. I enjoyed building deck chairs in my woods class. My Ag Tech classes focused on welding and small engines. I enjoy working on mechanical projects and rebuilding engines. In my spare time, I have restored a 1961 GMC truck. I did the mechanical restoration on the motor and I did the body repair work in the truck. I also restored the interior to look like new. I was also an active FFA member at my school. During my senior year, I also attend Salina Area Technical School for half of the day and began working on an Auto Body Collision Repair certificate. After high school graduation, I plan to continue my education at Salina Area Technical School in the Diesel Mechanics program. I would like to work as a mechanic for Carrico Implement after Vo-Tech School. My hobbies include riding 4-wheelers, going to the lake for boating and wake boarding, and spending time with my family and friends. I would like to thank the Kansas Association of Directors of Plant Facilities for this scholarship.
